2025 Dress Codes Exhibition: A new exhibition will display treasures from Historic Royal Palaces' own Royal Ceremonial Dress Collection. Through dsiplays of both instantly recognisable and lesser-known clothing, it will examine the "rules" around dressing for court, explore how members of the royal family have adapted or broken these rules over the years, as well as why we use dress to mark certain rites of passage, such as weddings. The exhibition will feature clothing work by Queen Victoria and Princess Margaret, as well as a rare intricately-embroidered Japanese court suit and glamorous 1920s debutante dress.
