Day 1

We depart for Northumbria, making comfort stops en route and arriving late afternoon at the Holiday Inn Gosforth Park, with tea/coffee and biscuits on arrival.

Day 2

Today we journey north via Warkworth Castle to Alnwick. Explore this historic town, famed for its proximity to Alnwick Castle, and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, visit Belsay Hall, Castle & Gardens, a Greek revival-style country house surrounded by stunning gardens. Return to the hotel for dinner and relaxation.

Day 3

Begin your day at Northumberlandia, a remarkable landform sculpture. After a short stop, head to Morpeth’s Wednesday market for a taste of local culture. Following lunch, visit the Woodhorn Museum, a former coal mine turned heritage centre. Return to the hotel for an evening at leisure, where you can relax in the bar or enjoy a swim in the pool.

Day 4

Start today with a tour of Tynemouth Priory, featuring a 13th-century chapel and WWII gun battery. Enjoy lunch in Tynemouth and explore local shops. In the afternoon, visit Seaton Deleval Hall and its dramatic architecture. Conclude with a relaxing coastal drive to Blyth Beach for tea or ice cream.
