Visit Salisbury

Day 1

We depart for Berkshire, making comfort stops en-route including a suitable lunch stop. Arriving at Littlecote House Country Hotel this afternoon.

Day 2

Today we visit Salisbury - a cathedral city of ageless beauty and captivating history. At the city’s heart is Salisbury Cathedral, a beacon that has attracted visitors for centuries. Gathered around the Cathedral is a modern medieval city, full of buildings crafted with the care of another age. At Salisbury Cathedral you will find the best preserved of the four original Magna Carta manuscripts dating from 1215AD.

Elsewhere in Salisbury, you can visit National Trust’s Mompesson House, The Rifles Berkshire & Wiltshire Museum or Salisbury Museum. Here you can discover 500,000 years of history - from the archaeology of ancient Wessex to contemporary art - all in a stunning medieval building set within the glorious setting of the Cathedral Close.

Within the Cathedral Close, you will find Arundells, Mompesson House, The Rifles Military Museum and the award-winning Salisbury Museum with its Wessex Gallery.

Shopping in Salisbury
Historic streets are home to all your favourite stores, as well as independent retailers offering unusual items you won’t find on every high street. Here in Salisbury, the curious traveller will find quirky, independent shops offering products designed and crafted locally.

Day 3

A day at leisure to enjoy the facilities at the hotel, such as the indoor heated swimming pool, cinema room or games room. You can also book a grounds tour and explore the 113-acre estate which includes England’s last remaining Cromwellian Chapel.

Day 4

This morning we visit one of the best Christmas markets in Europe, Winchester Christmas Market. Browse from over 100 different stalls offering authentic handmade gifts and traditional festive food, or visit the historic Winchester Cathedral.

This afternoon we visit Whitchurch Silk Mill for a tour and some festive refreshments. Whitchurch Silk Mill is a 19th century water mill set in the beautiful surroundings of rural Hampshire

We depart the hotel after breakfast, making our way home with comfort stops en route and a suitable lunch stop, arriving back in East Sussex this evening.
